Navy officer stabs colleague's wife 11 times
Mumbai, Feb 16: In a shocking incident an Indian Navy Officer was arrested on Sunday, Feb 15 for stabbing his colleague's wife 11 times. R A Chandran, Navy Radio officer was arrested from his Navy Nagar residence in Colaba. Reports suggest that Chandran had allegedly confessed about his love for Navy Seaman Dharampal Rawat's wife Anita.
Being rejected Chandran (32) sneaked into the flat and entered Anita's room through the balcony of their house and stabbed her 11 times and later slashed his own wrist. Later the Navy police took the duo to Ashwini Hospital where Anita underwent a surgery. Reports suggest that her condition is critical.
Navy sources said that Chandran and Rawat knew each other for long as their daughters are in the same school and are friends. A Tambre, Police Inspector from Cuffe Parade police station said that on Feb 13, Chandran went to Rawat"s flat and asked his wife to come down. An angry Rawat told him to come up to the flat. “When the accused said he wanted to speak with Rawat"s wife alone, Rawat threw him out," said Tambre.
Police have booked a case against Chandran for attempted murder, wrongful confinement and house trespass.
