Txtng blamd fr spoiln spelin standards
London, Feb 12 (ANI): Besides wrecking English language, the increased use of text messages and emails is making spelling standards fall, according to a new study.
The research said that spell checkers also make people lazy about everyday words, reports the Sun.
However, they are more careful when writing formal letters, such as job applications, said the internet search site survey.
The most misspelled common words were: 1) accommodation; 2) accessory; 3) February; 4) opportunity; 5) embarrass; 6) eighth; 7) receipt; 8) guarantee; 9) license (confused with licence); 10) restaurant. (ANI)
