Kathmandu, Feb 11 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav here today and discussed the current political situation in the country.
According to Nepalnews, Prachanda also apprised Dr Yadav of the latest steps being taken by the government including the implementation the ordinances promulgated by the government.
The meeting comes a day after Dr Yadav authenticated three controversial ordinances as recommended by the Maoist government, despite widespread criticism by the Nepali Congress.
The ordinances are related to involuntary disappearances during the insurgency period, reservation for women, Janajatis, Madhedis and Dalits in the state mechanism, and the voters' list.
Earlier, Prachanda met army chief Rookumangud Katawal at his Baluwatar residence and asked for explanation from him regarding the ongoing row over Nepal Army's recruitment process.
Against the order of Ministry of Defense, Nepal Army went ahead with its recruitment plan and has now completed the process. (ANI)
