Battle for Beckham intensifies

By Super Admin

London, Feb 7 (ANI): David Beckham will not have to return to LA Galaxy in March and could be confirmed as a full-time AC Milan player if his American club agrees to the fee of 10million pounds plus with the Italian giants.

Beckham currently is midway through a two-month loan to AC Milan. His strong performances in five games for the Serie A team have prompted the club to say that it would like to either extend the loan or acquire Beckham outright.

The former England captain this week voiced his own desire to remain in Italy with a club whose roster includes more international stars than all of Major League Soccer combined.

The Sun quoted sources as saying that the negotiations had speeded up after the intervention of MLS commissioner Don Garber.

And now all the haggling appears to be over the fee Milan would pay to buy Beckham out of his 5-year, 250million dollars deal in America.

AC Milan's initial offer of 5.7million dollars is below Galaxy's valuation of 20million dollars, but the midfielder could walk for free in November 2009. (ANI)
