Hijack drama: Jitender sent to 14 days jail
New Delhi, Feb 2: Jitender Kumar Mohla, the drunk passenger who created a hijack drama on board an Indigo flight from Goa to Delhi at the Indira Gandhi International Airport has been sent to 14-day custody.
Jitender, a resident of Dwarka sub-city here, has been arrested by Delhi Police and has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 506 (criminal intimidation) as well as under the Civil Aviation Act.
A city court sent him to judicial custody till Feb 16.
Jitender and fellow passengers Harpreet Anand and Samir Uppal were detained by the security agencies Sunday evening for their alleged aggressive actions on board.
The three passengers allegedly had a tiff with the flight crew over allotment of seats.
Their behaviour had forced the pilot of the Indigo flight 6E44 to send a hijack alert, leading to a scare and panic at the Indira Gandhi International airport here. The plane made an emergency landing and was kept in isolation for two and a half hours.
