Lahore, Jan 30: Pakistan had earlier claimed of arresting an Indian in connection with the Lahore blasts in Pakistan which turned out to be a hoax. Pakistan is now claiming to have arrested three Indians of 'RAW trained' in the eastern Punjab province for spying for India.
Announcing the arrest on Thursday, Jan 29, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Pervez Rathor claimed here that the three were working for India's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the local Geo TV reported.
Reports suggest that the trio used to provide photographs of important places to the RAW, while some important buildings were on their target.
"They were also involved in a bomb blast in Lahore in 2006, in which 16 people were injured," Rathor was quoted by the channel as telling a press conference here.
The CCPO claimed that the three had visited India too. A Dawn News channel also quoted Rathor as saying that the alleged terrorists were planning sectarian violence in Pakistan.
He was quoted as claiming that the three crossed the border seven times and 'confessed' to documenting some important assets of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa, the front organisation of the Lashkar-e-Toiba blamed for the Mumbai attacks.
