Aishwarya Rai to contest polls on SP ticket?
Patna, Jan 29: After Sanju baba's entry into politics on Samajwadi party ticket, it is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's turn to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as a Samajwadi Party candidate.
Leaders and workers of SP party in Bihar have decided on Aishwarya's name for Madhepura seat against Janata Dal-United (JD-U) National President Sharad Yadav, a party official said.
A large number of party workers requested Senior party leader Tulsi Singh to convince Mulayam Singh Yadav to offer ticket to Aishwarya from Madhepura. Singh is chairman of the party's state parliamentary board.
In 2004 Lok Sabha polls, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, the RJD chief, won from Madhepura by defeating Sharad Yadav. Lalu Prasad later resigned the Madhepura seat and opted to retain the Chapra seat.
