The suspects were on their way to Delhi from Ghaziabad. The operation took place at about 2.15 am.

The incident took just a day before the Republic Day. Police recovered two AK-47s, two hand grenades and a bag in the Maruti car in which the terrorists were travelling. They also recovered a Pakistani passport from the care.

One UP ATS contable is injured in the encounter.

Navin Arora, the Senior Superintendent of Police said that they had information that some persons were on their way from Ghaziabad in Maruti Van carrying arms and ammunition on way to Delhi. The ATS chased the alleged terrorists and tried to stop them. But they fired the ATS who then returned the fire.

Reports suggest that the terrorists from Pakistan had plans to create havoc and tension on the eve of India's Republic Day.
