Is Mayawati and Congress patching up?
Lucknow, Jan 25: Is Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati patching up with the Congress. Unconfirmed reports suggest so. The speculation began when Satish Chandra Mishra, Mayawati's chief political advisor paid a surprise visit to Pranab Mukherjee, Indian External Affairs Minister.
Mishra the BSP General Secretary, is Mayawati's most trusted political advisor a man she turns to before taking any big political decision. Mishra met Pranab on Saturday, Jan 24. But he brushed off all the speculation and said he he went to wish Prime Minister Manmohan Singh a speedy recovery on behalf of UP Chief Minister Mayawati.
"I came here to wish the Prime Minister a speedy recovery on behalf of UP Chief Minister Mayawati. Don't read any political meaning into this," he said. At the same time BSP's political rival Samajwadi Party's General Secretary Amar Singh met Congress President Sonia Gandhi. But Amar Singh refused to comment on the issue.
