Mumbai, Jan 23: Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi on Friday, Jan 23 announced that the second IPL players' auction will be held in Goa on Feb 6. He said, "I know that all the franchises are putting in a lot of work to ensure that their playing squads are even better than last season. The second players' auction at Goa on February 6, will be an opportunity to sign some experienced internationals to complete their playing squads."
He added that after the Goa auction, world's top cricketers may register to play in the DLF IPL. "But, I am particularly pleased to see franchises investing in the Gen-Next of World Cricket with the addition of many top young players," he added.
In the Feb auction franchises will have the oppurtunity to purchase current international players to fill the remaining slots for overseas players in their squad. The final of the second IPL season would be held on May 29.
