Raju more popular than Obama on web

New Delhi, Jan 18: The infamous Ramalinga Raju has shot to limelight on Jan 7 after he admitted cooking the Satyam's book. Though he is in news for wrong reasons, he has beaten US President-elect Barack Obama on internet popularity charts in India. Raju is not behind in getting searches in abroad as well.

Stories, news articles on Ramalinga Raju is getting more clicks in the Internet from a week than Obama. But however both Raju and Obama were generating equal searches from India before Jan 7, though Obama was leading with a small margin.

But on Jan 7, 2009 the charts increased on people reading more on Ramalinga Raju, after he admitted fudging the accounts of Satyam Computers. Raju's search on Google was estimated to be more than 10 times than of Barack Obama.

Statistics reveal that Raju's own state Andhra Pradesh is on top in search volumes followed by Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi. When it comes to cities, Hyderabad has large search volume, from where Raju and Satyam Computers are based. Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Mahape and Delhi follows the chart respectively.

In searching for Obama, Tamil Nadu is on top followed by Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi among the regions. For cities, the maximum search volumes for Obama has come from Chennai, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.

Not only in India, Raju has become popular (infamous) even overseas. Searches from UAE, Singapore, Finland, US, Poland, Australia, UK, Canada and Germany. Not only English, Raju's stories has been searched in Polish language too.
