"I am very happy to come to Lucknow, I am overwhelmed by the welcome ... I want people to love me, learn Gandhigiri from me and give me a 'jadu ki jhappi' (a hug)," said Dutt on his way to the SP office.
The cavalcade of Dutt would pass through Alambagh, Station Road, KKC college, Kaiserbagh, collectorate, Hazratganj and Rajbhawan. The roadshow is to show the strength of Samajwadi Party. The opposition parties would be closely watching Dutt, who is considered as a 'strong' candidate by rivals if he contests.
Dutt is expected to hold a press conference at around 5.00 pm.
Dutt's proposed candidature from Lucknow on an SP ticket, however, has sparked a controversy and several hoardings apparently targeting the actor for his conviction for illegally possessing arms have come up in the constituency.
"Lucknow is our heaven, we do not want AK-47," is the message on the hoardings that have been put on several prominent places in the city after the Samajwadi Party announced Dutt's candidature from Lucknow.&13;&13;
