Larry Flynt-US Porn Industry Moguls
Washington, Jan 16: US adult entertainment moguls Larry Flynt and Joe Francis requested the government for a $5 million federal bail-out. While most Americans laugh about it Flynt and Francis say it is a serious request.

In a joint request to US Congress they said, "With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It is time for the Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America. The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly."

The US Congress in Oct authorized $700 billion to assist the financial industry. The Bush administration has already committed the first $350 billion, using it to inject capital into banks with few restrictions attached and to bail out the struggling financial companies considered too big to fail without further damage to the economy.

Francis said that if the Congress is willing to help US's most important business, even the porn industry deserve the same consideration. "In difficult economic times, Americans turn to entertainment for relief. More and more, the kind of entertainment they turn to is adult entertainment," he added.

Reports say that half of all internet users visit adult sites, with the number of unique visitors to adult websites having grown to more than 75 million per month. Francis said that the emergence of adult industry to the mainstream of popular culture suggest that the US government should actively support the porn industry's survival and growth, just like the other industries it support.

Majority of the Americans argued against Francis and Flynt and said that porn industry is a cancer within the society and is ruining the life of individuals, marriage and families. Reports suggest that 'Girls Gone Wild' CEO Francis is planning to send letters asking assistance to his local representative, California Congressman Henry Waxman, Massachusetts' Barney Frank, the head of the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee and the US Treasury Department.

But both Francis and Flynt said that the $13 million industry is in 'no fear of collapse' but they do not want to take any chance. Flynt said, "Americans can do with out cars and such but they cannot do without sex."
