Yuvi helped me to recover injury: Sania Mirza

By Super Admin

Hong Kong, Jan 6: Is there any connection between Cricket and Tennis? Both are sports agreed. Other than that? It seems yes. Indian tennis star Sania Mirza is connecting with Indian Cricket's Six hitter Yuvraj Singh. On Monday, Jan 5 Sania said that she recovered from a 'career-threatening' injury with the help from Yuvraj Singh.

Sania was delighted to come back after the painful wrist problem, which forced her to quit Beijing Olympics and left her unable to even lift a fork to eat.

Following a treatment recommended by Yuvi, Sania is now able to take part in the World Team Challenge exhibition event here. "Coming back from a career-threatening injury makes it very special to be back. Suddenly, from a professional athlete, you become someone who can't pick up a fork." said Sania Mirza.

"I'm just living in the moment and I'm just happy to be back." 22 year old Sania reached the peak of her career-ranking of 27 in August 2007. But later went down in the last season due to injury and is now ranked 100.

The World Team Challenge, from January 7-10, features four teams representing Europe, Russia, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. Players include world number one Jelena Jankovic, Wimbledon champion Venus Williams, world number seven Vera Zvonareva and China's top player, Zheng Jie.

The Australian Open, the first of the season's four Grand Slams, starts on January 19.
