100 hours: Poonch encounter continues
New Delhi, Jan 6: Its more than 100 hours. But the battle between militants and Security forces has continued in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Intermittent firing was witnessed since morning on Monday, Jan 5. Perhaps the terrorists are attempting to save ammunition, says senior officers.

here
that,
on
Sunday,
Jan
4,
militants
tried
to
escape
in
the
dark.
Heavy
firing
were
also
witnessed
on
Jan
4.
The
encounter
is
on
in
Bhatidhar
forest,
from
where
Jaish-e-Mohammad
and
Lashkar
militants
have
been
allegedly
operating
for
several
years
now.
According
to
an
official
statement
released
by
the
Army,
four
of
the
six
to
10
terroists
trapped
in
the
Bhatidhar
forest
area
have
been
killed.
The bodies of the dead terrorists have yet to be recovered, though. Two Jawans of Army and a JCO have lost their lives in the encounter.
