New Delhi, Jan 6: The lone terrorist survival of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Azam Amir Kasav is not at all aware that Pakistan has disowned him, according to a crime branch official."He asked us about the status of his letter on legal help. We told him that it is in the process. However, he is not aware of any developments in Pakistan. He does not know that Pakistan has disowned him stating that evidence was not sufficient to prove Ajmal's nationality," said the investigating officer.
The officer also added that ''we will tell him about the status of his legal help at an appropriate time. This is also a part of our investigation strategy'. It can be recalled here that Azam Kasav was caught after he shot top cops near Cama Hospital and was trying to flee in a car along with his fellow men.
Kasav who is in police custody had seeked legal help from
Pakistan High Commission in the second week of December. Azam had
confessed that he and his accomplice hailed from Pakistan. He also
asked Pakistan High Commission to take custody of the body of
fellow terrorist Ismail Khan, who was killed in an encounter in
south Mumbai on the same night.
However, the Indian govt had forwarded the letter to Pakistan High Commission.
Around 20 witnesses identified Kasav when he was taken for Identification Parade for three days to Arthur Road Jail. Though he has done such a heinous crime, Kasav does not have an iota of remorse, Jail Authority officials said.
"He believes that whatever he had done was right. He is not regretting for his deeds," the official added.
