No job, IIT student commits suicide
Kanpur, Jan 4: Is getting a job through campus recruitment more important than your life? Suman, an M-Tech student in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh might have felt like that. On Saturday, Jan 3 upset over not getting a job through campus placement, G Suman, a post-graduate IIT student allegedly committed suicide in Kanpur by hanging himself.
Suman, IInd year M-Tech student was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room. Sanjay Govind Pandey, Director of IIT-Kanpur said that Suman, who was pursuing electrical engineering was upset after he failed to get a job offer during recent capus recruitment by several MNCs (Multi-National Companies).
After that he kept to himself and rarely met anyone. However, when he did not come to the mess to have breakfast and lunch on Saturday, his friends went to his room which was locked from inside. They saw Suman's body hanging from the fan, Panday said adding he was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
IIT sources said that Suman had confided to his friends a number of times his disappointment over not getting job due to global economic recession. IIT Director said that a special committee of professors has been set up to probe the incident.

family

informed
and
the
body
sent
for
post
mortem.

investigation

on.
