Markets close with good gains amidst volatility
Mumbai, Dec 29: Markets closed with good gains after extremely choppy session. The BSE Bankex outperformed the other sectoral indices; it was up nearly 4 per cent. Good buying interest was also seen in metal, oil & gas, power and capital goods stocks. The BSE Midcap and Small Cap indices closed up 1.58 per cent and 0.78 per cent respectively.
On the global front, Asian markets closed mixed. European markets are trading higher; FTSE and DAX were up nearly 1 per cent each.
The Sensex closed up 204.60 points or 2.19 per cent at 9533.52. It has touched an intra day high of 9,550.40 and an intra day low of 9,162.66.

cent
at
2922.20.
It
has
touched
an
intra
day
high
of
2931.80
and
an
intra
day
low
of

Markets volatile; Satyam, SAIL major gainers
Markets are trading with volatility. The buying interest is seen in banking, oil, healthcare, metal and power space and selling pressure is witnessed in realty, auto and IT sector.
At 1.43 IST, the Sensex is up 5.86 points or 0.06 per cent at 9334.78, and the Nifty is up 15.60 points or 0.55 per cent at 2872.85. About 1,152 shares have advanced, 1,570 shares have declined while 480 shares are unchanged.

major
gainers
on
the
indices.

Markets still weak; Nifty tests 2820
Markets continue to trade weak. The Nifty has broken the key support of 2820. According to JM Financial, if Nifty breaches 2820 then it may test 2,700. Auto, realty, IT, capital goods, power, and banking stocks are seeing selling pressure. However, the oil & gas index is trading flat as heavyweight Reliance Industries was trading at Rs 1,219.60, up 0.63 per cent. The BSE midcap and smallcap indices are down 0.5 per cent each.

Indian markets open weak
Receiving negative cues from the Asian counterparts Indian markets opened on a flat note with a negative bias.
At 1000 hrs IST, Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share Sensex fell 30.42 points or 0.33 per cent to 9,298.50. National Stock Exchange's benchmark Nifty lost 5.5 points or 0.19 per cent to 2851.75 from Friday's close. Realty and Technology stocks are slogging.
