I recommend Omar as JK Chief Minister: Farooq
Srinagar, Dec 29: Farooq Abdullah, the National Conference (NC) chief on Monday, Dec 29 cleared off all speculation regarding the chief ministership in Jammu Kashmir. He said that he would recommend to NC that his son Omar Abdullah should be the new Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister.
Farooq said, "the time has now come. I will recommend to the party that it should consider Omar Abdullah for the Chief Minister's post. I thought over the issue during the night." The 72 year old veteran politician said that the state now need a young Chief Minister as there are a lot of things to be done for the state.
His
remarks
assume
significance
in
the
wake
of
his
statement
on
Monday
night
that
he
would
like
to
be
the
Chief
Minister
which
created
confusion.
Meanwhile
Omar
Abdullah
said
that
he
will
be
guided
by
his
father.
Omar
said
that
informal
negotiations
have
been
started
with
the
Congress
regarding
the
government
formation.
Also
he
would
go
to
Delhi
soon
and
talk
with
senoir
Congress
leaders
regarding
the
issue.
