Heavy fog in Delhi clogs flight operations
New Delhi, Dec 29: Heavy fog in Delhi has disrupted the morning flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, trains services and road traffic on Monday, Dec 29. 35 flights have been delayed, three cancelled and two diverted to Mumbai.
The general visibility at the IGI airport fell below 100 metres and runway visibility range (RVR) dipped to less than 50 metres, below the required minimum of 100 metres for flight operations.
The fog enveloped the capital at around 4 am forcing the authorities to cancel, divert and postpone flights.
Delhi experienced a minimum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, Dec 29 morning, which is one degree above normal, the Met office said.
