Peruvian 'Virgin Mary' gives birth to Jesus on Christmas Day
London, December 27 (ANI): This is what may be called a pure coincidence-a Peruvian woman called Virgen Maria, closely resembling "Virgin Mary", gave birth to a baby boy on Christmas Day and named him Jesus.
The 20-year-old woman gave birth to the 7.7pound boy in the early hours on December 25 at the central maternity hospital in the capital Lima, and called her son Jesus Emanuel.
Interestingly, the baby's father, Adolfo Jorge Huamani, 24, is a carpenter.
The strange coincidences prompted Peruvians to make Biblical comparisons.
Peru's leading newspaper El Comericio even published a story headlined 'Two thousand years later the story of Bethlehem is relived'.
"A few days ago we had decided to name my son after a professional soccer player. But thanks to a happy coincidence this is how things ended up," the Telegraph quoted the boy's father as saying. (ANI)
