Washington, Dec 27 (ANI): Hawaiian people are leaving no stones unturned to make Barack Obama's holiday vacation a special one and are giving him special gifts like three bean salad, bicycle license plate and a book.

A Navy officer on the military base where the president-elect works out gave presented Obama with a book called "The Golden Thirteen," about the first black naval officers, a U.S.S. Lake Erie hat, and a blue-and-gold Navy basketball jersey and warm-up.

As Obama's press pool waited outside near the Obama's beachfront vacation home, a neighbour came up on his bicycle with a Christmas card for the future first family.

The white envelope had "Obama family" handwritten on the outside and was given to Obama aide Katie Lillie, who also fielded the three-bean salad and Navy gifts. And then pedalled back down the street.

Another neighbour approached Lillie and a Secret Service agent standing outside the door with a goodie bag for the Obamas.

The bag carried three bicycle license plates displaying the word "aloha." There was one for each of Obama's daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, and one for Michelle Obama, reports Politico.com

An elderly woman is so excited to have Obama in Hawaii that she has constantly been following the President elect's motorcade in her own car on and off since he arrived.

The locals are making sure that Obama's aides also receive the best hospitality.

A man gave a helping of the vinegary kidney beans, green beans and wax beans concoction to an Obama aide who was waiting with reporters in the Olomana Golf Links club house while the president elect teed off.

The neighbours in Kailua have put out tables and chairs outside for the reporters following him to sit on, rather than stay cooped up in the pool bus.

They have also opened their homes to reporters who have needed to use the bathroom.

One neighbour put out a table of snacks and board games for pool reporters on Christmas morning.

The reporters also received a goodie bag which includes oatmeal, cranberry and raisin cookies. (ANI)
