Man who ate 63 hotdogs in 12 minutes now sets eyes on the fruitcake eating competition

New York, Dec 26 (ANI): A competitive eater, who has won many hot dog eating competitions, is currently eyeing the fruitcake consumption competition.

Kobayashi, who gulped down 63 hotdogs in 12 minutes in 2007, wants to be the winner of the fruitcake eating competition after he was runner up at Nathan's hot dog eating competition.

Kobayashi, a six-time frankfurter-eating champion, will have to face a major challenge of gulping down fruitcakes when he tries to beat current record-holder Sonya Thomas, who devoured four pounds and 14.25 ounces of fruitcake in 10 minutes.

"I've seen the fruitcakes, and they're extraordinarily dense and chewy, it would be the equivalent of biting into a moist piece of modeling clay," the New York Daily News quoted George Shea, spokesman for Major League Eating of the organization sponsoring the event, as saying.

The event is designed to raise awareness of the current crisis facing food banks nationwide. (ANI)
