Lahore, Dec 24: Now its Pakistan Muslim League chief Nawaz Sharif's flip-flop. Sharif has backtracked from his earlier statement 'that the lone survival terrorist of Mumbai attacks was a Pakistani.' Now he has asked substantial evidences against the terrorists involved in the Mumbai attacks.
Sharif has asked India to provide accurate evidences against the persons involved in the Mumbai carnage. Sharif also warned India against refraining from blaming Pakistan.
Addressing a ceremony organized in connection with Christmas solidarity, Sharif has said that minorities groups in Pakistan enjoy complete freedom since past 61 years. He said that Pakistan was a peace loving country and it strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestation.
"Pakistan wants peaceful solution of all issues on the table of dialogues. India should stop accusing Pakistan of Mumbai attacks," he maintained, adding that if India provided solid proofs about the persons involved in attacks then he would personally request President Asif Ali Zardari for action against these persons. He said that both countries should avoid such polices which could lead the region towards the war. "Pakistan is itself victim of terrorism and it is ready for the elements of the terrorists elements, " he added.
Earlier, in a major embarrassment for the Pakistan Government, Sharif on Friday had said that captured Mumbai attacker Ajmal Kasab was indeed a Pakistani. Sharif also slammed the alleged cover up at Faridkot, the village that Kasab hails from, advising Zardari to come clean and investigate terror links thoroughly. "They cordoned off Kasab's village Faridkot. His parents weren't allowed to meet anyone. What was the need for all this? We have to put our house in order," Sharif said.
