26/11 attacks: Foreign students in Pune scanned
Pune, Dec 23: Police are scanning foreign students in Pune. More than hundred foreign students whose visas were expired have been deported to their countries in the last three months.
The police intensified this drive against since the Mumbai terror attacks in Nov. Police says that there are many foreign students who have not finished their courses and lived in Pune for several years.

Singh,

Police,
Pune
says
"there
are

of
students
who
are
failing
and
extending
their
stay.
We
don't
know
what
their
motive
is.
So
we
have
to
be
careful
about
them
also."
Pune
alone
has

country.
Police have asked educational institutions to maintain a proper database about the international students. "We have a proper database of all foreign students and we coordinate with the police also. So all student details are made available to us, their address, their contact number," said Vidya Yerawdekar, Director, Symbiosis University.
Most international students here come from Iran, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and south Asian countries. Mostly Iranian students have been deported. The reason why Pune Police is taking extra care is due to Mumbai attackers of 26/11 had fake student IDs with them.
