Dungeon dad trying to sell his interrogation transcripts to British tabloids

Melbourne, Dec 23 (ANI): Looks like Dungeon Dad Josef Fritzl is trying to cash in on the story of his crime, as he is making efforts to sell his police interrogation transcripts to British tabloids.

The 73-year-old sex beast has been accused of keeping his daughter, Elisabeth Fritzl, captive in an underground cellar and raping her for 24 years and fathering seven children on her.

He is also charged with murder, as one of the seven children died shortly after birth.

According to 'Stern' magazine, Fritzl needed money to pay off his 3.5 million euros of debt, and so he tried to contact the British media through an intermediary for selling his interrogation transcripts.

However, no deal was made in the end, reports the magazine.

Prosecution's spokesman Gerhard Sedlacek said that Fritzl couldn't be stopped to sell the document, as there are now laws to prevent him from doing so. Even Elisabeth kept a diary during her ordeal in the cellar, but the court is keeping the document under seal.

Earlier this year, reports suggested that Mr Fritzl gave indications that he had plans to profit from the alleged crimes by selling his memoirs to the highest bidder.

"It has been bad enough with all the leaks from the doctors and police sources about Elisabeth. But that her father, who caused all her suffering, means to cash in on her ordeal is sickening," News.com.au quoted Elisabeth's lawyer Eva Plaz as saying at the time.

A source told the Sun: "He is a monster trying to present a human face, but it will be at the cost to her fragile psyche. He knows that his story is worth a lot because Elisabeth has made it clear that she does not want to sell her story." (ANI)
