Pakistani woman makes a mark in the 'Who is Who' book
Lahore, Dec 22 (ANI): A Pakistani woman named Shazia Qureshi has got her name included in the 'Who Is Who' book after she became the first female principal of the Punjab University Law Colleges, since its inception in 1868.
According to sources, the erudite woman got third position in the LLB exam in 1990, and was awarded a gold medal in the subject of mercantile law.
Later she did LLM in 1992-93 with specialization in international law from Cambridge University under British Common Wealth Scholarship scheme.
"I firmly believe that devotion to duty is not a sacrifice, it is justification to our existence in this world," the Daily Times quoted Shazia, as saying.
Shazia joined as a lecturer on December 16, 1990, and was selected as assistant professor by the higher selection board of the varsity on June 27, 1995.
Finally being the most senior faculty member and expert on international law, she was appointed the Principal of the prestigious institution on July 21, 2008, which is older than the Punjab University. (ANI)
