Bush shoe throwing Iraqi journalist's trial to begin on December 31
Washington, Dec 22 (ANI): A date for the start of the trial of an Iraqi journalist who grabbed the world spotlight when he threw his shoes at US President George W Bush has been announced.Muntadhar al Zeidi is accused of "aggression against a foreign head of state during an official visit," an offence that carries a prison term of between five and 15 years.
The judge investigating Zeidi's case said that his trial would begin on December 31.
"The investigations phase is over, and a new step has started, which is transferring the case to the Central Criminal Court of Iraq," Sky News quoted Dhiya al Kenani, as saying.
"It will take place in the same court, in the presence of the media.
"We didn't change Muntadhar's charges after the investigations phase," Kenani added. (ANI)
