Obama's last Hawaiian 'Hula-Hula' holiday before White House rigours
Washington, Dec 20 (ANI): Before taking over the White House officially, US President-elect Barack Obama has returned to his home state of Hawaii to spend his last family vacation.
Obama along with wife Michelle and young daughters, Malia and Sasha will be enjoying their vacations with close friends at the cluster of privately-owned beachfront mansions on Oahu, the island where the president-elect was born and raised by his grandparents, reports Politico.com
He will also be joined by his senior adviser Valerie Jarrett among the handful of friends on the trip.
He will also be attending a memorial service for his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who died just two days before his historic victory.
A Hawaii vacation over Christmas and New Year's Eve has become a tradition for the Obamas and the families of three of their closest friends, Martin Nesbitt and his wife, Anita Blanchard; Eric Whitaker, and Jarrett.
According to news reports, Obama has also been invited by Hawaii's Republican Gov. Linda Lingle for a meeting. (ANI)
