China to provide airborne surveillance system to Pak
Islamabad, Dec !9: China will provide Pakistan a modern Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) planes for extended surveillance of its airspace, said media sources on Thursday, Dec 18. Pakistan will receive the unmanned surveillance aircraft in the next four years on a deferred payment basis. Its a deal of $278-million, the sources said.

presented
the
details
of
the
agreement
to
the
country's
lower
house
of
parliament.
The
report
came
as
tensions
between
Pakistan
and
India
are
intensifying
following
last
month's
Mumbai
terrorist
attacks.
Last week Pakistan had claimed that two Indian jet fighters had violated its airspace.However, India has out rightly denied any violation of Pakistan's airspace.
