Model abandoned on Bandra's street
Mumbai, Dec 19: One more case of a model, Renu Rathi (21), being victimised by the fashion world is being reported. The case reminds of Geetanjali Nagpal who was found, unkempt and incoherent, roaming the streets of Delhi last year.

Model Renu Rathi was found on the streets outside her rented flat in Bandra (West) on Thursday, Dec 18. She was allegedly lying there for two days without food or water after her landlord allegedly 'threw her out".

After several failed attempts at getting roles under big banners, Rathi allegedly turned to drugs, which is why her landlord asked her to leave, police said. "But Rathi insists that she wants to live in the same apartment. She also keeps saying that she wants to work in a film," said police sources.

Throughout the drama that unfolded outside Rathi"s apartment, the model kept saying, "I want Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt to cast me in their film. Even a small role would do."

According to sources, Rathi has refused any help from her parents who live in Delhi. She even called her boyfriend, one Vishal Parikshit, who works with director Mohit Suri.

"She called him up and said things like 'I hate you" and 'I do not want you to interfere in my life". She even admitted that she smokes but, insists that she is not a drug addict," said the source.

Currently, police officials from Khar police station have permitted Rathi to be taken to a rehabilitation centre for treatment.

"We have told her that we are taking her to see another apartment and that she can move back to her apartment in Bandra after some months," said a police official from Khar police station.
