Lahore, Dec 16 (ANI): The government should raise the issue of the violation of Pakistani airspace by Indian Air Force fighters and ISAF drones at the United Nations (UN), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani has said.

"We must take up the issue at the UN so that no one dares to undertake any vicious move against the peace-loving Pakistanis," Durrani told reporters here.

The PML-Q leader said the government should raise the issue at the UN rather than acting as a spokesperson for India by terming the violation a 'technical fault'.

The flights of Indian jets over Pakistani territory, whether it is due to 'a technical or non-technical reason', are intolerable; the Daily Times quoted him, as saying.

He said the violation of Pakistani airspace by Indian fighter jets was a matter of great concern but the government should act wisely over the issue.

Durrani said the nation should unite in the face of the crises confronting the country, and suggested that all the political leaders of the country should join hands on December 25, the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam, and celebrate it as a 'national solidarity day'.

The PML-Q leader said India had violated the Simla Agreement by raising the issue of the Mumbai attacks at the UN, adding that Indian allegations of Pakistan's involvement in the Mumbai carnage were baseless.

He said linking the incidents with Pakistan would only exacerbate the tense situation between the two countries, which the region could not afford.

According to him, the people involved in the Samjhota Express train bombings were behind the Mumbai attacks.

To a question about NATO raids during the PML-Q tenure, Durrani said there was no agreement with the allies that they could raid Pakistani territories. (ANI)
