Srinagar, Dec 13: Official sources said that one person has been killed and six injured in clashes between anti-poll protesters and secuirty personnel in Jammu Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday, Dec 13. Polling has been suspended temporarily at three polling stations of the district.
More than 200 anti-poll protesters took to streets and pelted stones on the security officials when they stopped them from marching towards Pulwama. Forces then fired in air and lobbed teargas shells to disperse the violent protesters who tried to disrupt polling.
AFP Photojournalist Rauf hat was injured in the stone pelting. In another incident three police men are injured in a clash between anti-poll agitators and the security men at Karimabad. They said anti-poll agitators also clashed with security forces outside a polling booth at Chatterhama near Pampore resulting in suspension of polling temporarily. However, there was no report of any casualty in the
Pulwama witnessed a series of anti-election rallies since the election process was set in motion in the state on Oct 19.
