Lahore, Dec.13 (ANI): Criticizing the Pakistan Government for toeing the line of the United States through its crackdown on the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that move in the wake of a UN ban on the organization, was solely aimed at favouring India, a key strategic ally of Washington.

He described the current situation as painful, especially when Pakistan has rendered yeoman support as a frontline ally in the global war on terror.

Delivering a Friday sermon at Mansoorah, the Qazi said any Muslim who opposed the American interests was being declared a terrorist, despite the fact that America was the biggest terrorist of the world.

He also described the United Nations as "a US slave reduced only to establish the American and western hegemony over weaker countries".

The News further quoted him as saying that the UN ban of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JD) was undertaken without proof or a proper trial.

The Pakistan Government was playing the role of a 'hired mule' for Washington and annihilating its own citizens for American interests.

He said the government is extremely terrified of Washington and supporting the anti-Muslim measures of a global terrorist.

He also said that 9/11 and the Mumbai incidents were staged to form world opinion in order to achieve the desired result of invading the Muslim countries.

Describing jihad as an act of worship and means of establishing justice in the world by eliminating cruelty and oppression, the Qazi accused the western media and secular elements in the country of being bent on terming it terrorism.

He said Pakistan had proofs of Indian involvement in terrorism and blasts inside its territory.

He warned that the national solidarity and unity could never be achieved without getting rid of the rulers who were US slaves.

In a separate development, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the country is going through a sensitive period and the whole nation should unite to counter conspiracies against its solidarity.

He alleged that the steps taken by the federal government at the national and international levels were the extension of the former President Pervez Musharraf's policies, adding that the government should make decisions according to the wishes of people instead of receiving dictates from abroad.

Sharif was talking to party workers and leaders at his Raiwind residence.

He said the policies of the federal government had disappointed the masses and its steps were damaging the country's image abroad.

He said the entire world was terming the country terrorist while India was hurling threats at it, adding that the government should have adopted concrete steps to counter the complex situation.(ANI)
