Intelligence, security failed Mumbai: Chidambaram
Mumbai, Dec 5: Newly appointed Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, on Friday, Dec 5 in a press conference paid homage to all those officials including the Maharastra police, NSG commandos, Mumbai railway police and those innocent people who died in the deadly 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
"I agree security and intelligence failed in Mumbai. I pay to all the victims of the attacks." said Chidambaram to the media. "I would be less than truthful if I said there were no lapses. These happens sometimes. These are being looked into," he added.
"We will address the causes that led to the lapses."This is his first press conference after assuming charge as Union Home Minister. Chidambaram visited Taj and Oberoi hotels, CST where the terrorists carried out the attack. He also visited the injured at JJ Hospital.
