Sydney, December 3 : Don Bradman's baggy green cap is expected to cost bidders more than 1 million dollars at an auction of cricket memorabilia.

The cap, worn by the Aussie batsman during the 1948 Invincibles Ashes tour of England and initially estimated at 750,000, dollars, is set to fetch more than 1 million dollars with early interest.

A letter written by the player himself confirming its authenticity would accompany the Aust XI cap, gifted by the cricketer to Richard Robins, when it is put up for sale in Melbourne on December 15.

"The most prized possession of any collector of cricket memorabilia is a baggy green. A Bradman cap, particularly this one, eclipses all others," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted auctioneer Charles Leski as saying.

Other cricket treasures featured by Charles Leski Auctions include an original scorebook from the first Australian cricket tour of England in 1878 with a pre-sale estimated value between 10,000 to 12,000 dollars.

The Bradman bat that hit the then-world record first class score of 452 in a NSW v Queensland match in 1930 will also be up for grabs bearing value between 10,000 to 20,000 dollars.
