Lucknow, Nov 30 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today said the UPA government can't escape from its responsibilities on terrorist attacks in Mumbai, by resignation of Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil only and demanded that the Prime Minister and his Cabinet should resign.
'' The resignation of Mr Patil is not enough over these worst attacks in Mumbai and Prime Minister, with his Cabinet should also immediately resign, owning moral responsibility for the attacks,'' Ms Mayawati said in a statement, issued here late night.
'' Failure of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has exposed clearly. Terrorism has been increasing and hundreds of people killed, '' she added.
Ms Mayawati stated that the borders of the country are not safe and the government has failed to control infiltration of the terrorists. Now even our coasts are not safe.
'' No body has secure in the country and after the Mumbai attacks, the Congress and its allies have lost people's trust,'' she claimed.
The Chief Minister also lambasted the BJP-led NDA regime for increasing terrorist attacks in the country, saying Akshardham temple and Parliament had been attacked when NDA was in power.
Ms Mayawati added that her party had a clear stand that terrorism has no religion and caste and its perpetrators should be dealt with an iron hand.
'' No party should politicise terrorism and it should dealt beyond politics,'' she maintained.
BSP national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra attended an emergency all-party meeting, convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take stock of the internal security scenario in the country in the wake of the terror attacks in Mumbai that claimed nearly 200 lives.
