Stand united against terrorism: Former NSG chief
Shillong, Nov 30 (UNI) Former NSG Chief Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary has urged the people to stand united against terrorism.
''We need to unite to put an end to terrorism,'' Mr Mooshahary, who is now the Meghalaya Governor, told newspersons here, even as he termed the Mumbai siege as a ''matter of shame'' for the country.
Urging the citizens to fight unitedly against terrorism, the former NSG Chief stated that depending only on state machinery will not bring solution to global terrorism.
Eulogising the NSG commandos as well as other security personnel for saving the hundreds of innocent lives in the Mumbai siege, Mr Mooshahary said, ''They did what is expected from them even as they did not perceive any threat and did their best to save those trapped inside.'' The Meghalaya Governor was the NSG boss, when the Akshardham Temple attack took place and the NSG bravely overcame the terrorists under his command.
