Terrorists flushed out of Taj Mahal hotel
Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) After 59 hours of long-drawn battle, the security forces today gunned down the three terrorists holed up inside the century-old Taj Mahal hotel, lifting the siege laid by them since Wednesday night.
City Police Commissioner Hassan Gafoor told newspersons that in the operation at the Taj hotel, three terrorists were killed by the elite National Security Guard (NSG) commandos.
Mr Gafoor said the NSG commandos were mopping up the operation to find out whether any militant was still inside the hotel.
Describing the situation at the Taj Hotel like a battle field, he said there was an endless wave of gunfight and hurling of hand grenades.
In this joint operation, personnel of the Army, NSG, Navy and local police participated.
Firing started on Wednesday night at around 2200 hrs from Nariman House and then it was simultenously done at eight other places, including the busiest Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus.
