Ranadeb Bose take five for to collapse Tripura 88 all out

Kolkata, Nov 29 (UNI) Bengal were 138 for two after bowling out Tripura for paltry 88 runs in 26.5 overs in the first innings on the first day of the 4-day Ranji Trophy Plate-B match at Eden Gardens here today.

Arindam Ghosh (47) and Manoj Tiwari (82) were the twonot out batsmen when stumps were drawn for the day.

Mediam pacer Ranadeb Bose broke the spine of Tripura picking his first wicket on the first delivery trapping Rajib Saha. His five-wicket haul, seventeen times in Ranji, for 19 runs from nine overs saw Tripura's first three basmen fell cheaply when socre was 24, his best against the visitors.

Ranadeb Bose also set a milestone for himself taking 200 wickets in Ranji from 52 matches.

Ashoke Dinda and Sourav Sarkar were the two other pacers who troubled Tripura who had decided to bat after winning the toss. They completed Tripura's rout with 3/37 and 2/20 respectively.

Only Nishit Shetty could salvage some prestige for tourists hitting 38 in 55 balls before being caught by Anustup Majumdar off Dinda.

Bengal batting also began with on a dismal note when opener Rohan Banerjee, who a ton on debut match against Services, fell scoring in the first over. He was victim of Vineet Jain's last ball in first over and Amustup Majumdar was second to go wihtout scoring in 1.5 overs when bengal's total was 5. This time Timir Chanda uprooted stumps.

But coming of Arindam Ghosh, who was dropped in previous games, and Manoj Tiwari steadied the Bengal innings to score 47 and 82 respectively with partnership of 133 runs fromn 316 balls.

The two remained unbeaten when score was 138/2.

Manoj survived a second slip catch off Timir Chanda at 69 when the umpire called a No ball.
