Bangalore, Nov 29 (UNI) The mortal remains of Major Sandip Unnikrishnan, who was killed while fighting against terrorists in Mumbai on Friday, was cremated at Hebbal electrical crematorium, with full Military honour today.
Earlier, three rounds of shots were fired in the air and guard of honour by Military personnel.
Thousands of people, including School Children, Air Force and Army personnel, stood in queue to pay their last respect to the 31 year-old Sandip who laid down his life for the country. The crowd were heard shouting against Pakistan terrorists and Vande Mataram, Sandip Amar Rahe.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, some of his Cabinet colleagues, top army and Police Officials placed wreaths on the body of Maj Sandip Unnikrishnan who with in a short span of 9 years of joining the Army had risen to highest level after joining NSG.
