Gordon Brown writes encouraging letters to X Factor contestants
London, Nov 29 : British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is the latest fan of 'X Factor' - and he loves the show so much that he has been bombarding contestants from the television series with personal letters.
In one of the letters, Gordon has told a contestant that he disagreed with judge Simon Cowell's flak.
The letters have revealed that Gordon has been watching the program very closely and has knowledge about each and every incident taken place on the show.
Gordon wrote to contestant Ruth Lorenzo, a 25-year-old contestant, that he disagreed with the judgment of Simon Cowell, one of the programme's judges, that for her to sing in her native Spanish would be "disrespectful".
Gordon took time off from the ongoing economic crisis and appreciated another contestant Daniel Evans, a 38-year-old swimming pool cleaner, who is a single father whose wife died in childbirth.
Daniel was badly panned by Cowell who told him that his music was only liked by pensioners.
"On a personal note, can I say that the next time Simon says that you are only supported by the over-60s you can tell him that my wife Sarah and I disagree, although you would be better off mentioning Sarah rather than me as she is much further away from 60 than I am!" The Telegraph quoted Gordon, as stating in his letter to Daniel.
He added: "Whatever the final outcome, yours is one of the great stories of this year's competition, and I know you will go on to great success in the future," he further added.
However, Daniel was eliminated two weeks later.
