Four held for conducting fake polling
Dantewara, CG, Nov 29 (UNI) Four people have been arrested in connection with a polling party not reaching concerned polling centre for repolling on November 24 and conducting fake voting in this district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Presiding officer and assistant teacher Shivlal Netam, polling officer Dilip Markam, polling agents Evlam Nanda and Dudhi Hunga had been arrested by police.
The foursome were sent to judicial custody by the court yesterday.
Additional Superintendent of Police N L Baghel said other accused were absconding. Permission has been sought from the Election Commission for arresting CRPF assistant commander Heer Sing. The CRPF headquarters has been intimated in this regard.
Police believed that absconders were attempting to get anticipatory bail.
The polling party had not reached Gogunda polling centre for repolling on November 24 and reportedly conducted fake polling at a forest.
