London, Nov 29 (UNI) The shoot-out at the Taj Mahal Hotel during the terror attacks in Mumbai forced the English team to return from India without their playing kits.
The players had left their kits for the two-match Test series, scheduled to start in Ahmedabad on December 11, and the Hugo Boss suits they are given for formal occasions during tours at the five-star hotel.
But the terrorist attack, which has killed more than 150 people and caused extensive damage to the Taj Mahal Hotel, forced the England team to return home leaving their things behind.
''If we're looking what's going on at the moment, all our cricket stuff is in storage at the Taj hotel so we'll be the first team to play a Test match in blues (one-day kit) that's for sure. So I don't know. If we do come back, we'll have to get all the logistic stuff sorted out first,'' captain Kevin Pietersen was quoted as saying by the 'Daily Telegraph'.
''The decision to go back to London will buy us some time and if we need to fly back to India on Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday next week then so be it,'' he added.
