Congress to set up "mock Assembly" on December one
Kolkata, Nov 28 (UNI) The West Bengal Congress Committee has decided to set up a "mock Assembly" on December one at the State Assembly to protest the CLP leader's suspension from the House.
Yesterday Speaker Hasim Abdul Halim had suspended Congress Legislature party leader Manas Bhuiya for the entire session and later taken out of the House by its marshal as Mr Bhuniya disrupted the proceedings by squatting inside the well for not being allowed by the Speaker to table a motion on Lalgarh issue of West Midnapore district.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Bhuniya alleged that according to Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's instruction, Mr Halim had not even allowed them to table a motion on the agitation in Lalgarh.
''We have decided to set up a mock Assembly on Monday for discussing the issue.'' Meanwhile, he said the ruling CPI(M)'s '' hooligans were terrorising and threatening'' the voters in Berhampur, Krishnagar, Jhargram and Howrah before the Municipality and Municipal elections scheduled on December 30.
'' We have already informed State Election Commissioner Debashis Sen in this regard and appeal to the people to cast their votes fearlessly,'' he said.
