New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) The water storage in 81 major reservoirs of the country was 88 per cent of last year's storage and 103 per cent of the previous 10 years' average from June to November.
The combined live storage, recorded yesterday, in the reservoirs stood at 19 per cent of their designed capacity.
Live storage, also known as dead storage, is the level where no water can be drawn from the reservoirs.
The storage position in basins -- Ganga, Indus, Narmada, Rivers of Kutch, Krishna Mahanadi and Cauvery and other east flowing rivers -- was better than the average of previous 10 years.
Tapi, Mahi, Godavari and west flowing rivers of south basins were flowing close to normal while the flow in Sabarmati was deficient, a Ministry of Water Resources release said.
