Udaipur, Nov 28 (UNI) Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram has refuted Rajasthan Government's claims of development during the term of present BJP Government.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr Chidambaram said vital parameters of development like health, education, investment and infrastructure, strengthening suggested that the state could not achieve improvement during past five years.
He said Rajasthan had slided down in the list of developed states, based on above parameters.
On the possibility of Mumbai terror attack's impact on economy, Mr Chidambaram said there might be a short-lived effect and ruled out possibility of long-term fallout.
Earlier, speaking at a programme organised by the Congress Intellectuals Cell, Mr Chidambaram said the BJP and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi might attempt to capitalise on issue of terrorism in the ensuing assembly elections.
