Power development schemes for seven districts
Hisar, Nov 28 (UNI) The Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) has approved power development schemes of Rs 93 crore for seven districts including Sirsa, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Mewat, Fatehabad and Hisar to augment and expand power distribution system under the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojna (RGGVY).
Under the scheme, free electricity connections compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) would be provided to the residents living below poverty line (BPL), Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Managing Director Anurag Agarwal said in a review meeting.
Mr Agarwal said that the schemes under the RGGVY for districts Faridabad and Gurgaon were likely to be approved soon.
Under the RGGVY, the DHBVN planned to provide free electricity connection to 1,25,904 BPL families in its area and it would also create infrastructural capacity for these connections.
