Police on extra vigil after Mumbai attacks
Jammu, Nov 28 (UNI) Security has been beefed up in the winter capital city and other places of public importance in the region, following the Mumbai attacks.
Inspector General of Police (Jammu) K Rajendra Kumar today convened a meeting of senior police officials and directed them to remain alert and vigilant to thwart any nefarious designs of anti-social and anti-national elements.
He emphasised upon surprise checkings and establishing special check posts for inspection of vehicles in important areas.
Referring to the on going political rallies in connection with the General Assembly elections in the state, Mr Kumar asked the officers to remain extra vigilant since Jammu district is adjacent to the border and more prone to infiltration.
