Obama says his girls will have to 'scoop the poop' if they want a pup

Washington, November 28 : U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has revealed that his two daughters will be having a new pup as their companion at the White House.

He revealed plans about having a doggy to play with his daughters Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10, during a conversation with Barbara Walters on Wednesday.

They'll "scoop the poop," he told Barbara Walters.

"We've been talking to them about that. We don't want litter on the White House lawns. They're going to have to do their job," Us weekly quoted him as saying during the 20/20 interview.

Obama revealed that they had yet to settle on a dog.

He rejected the idea of having a Havanese like Walters' dog Cha Cha, saying that it sounded like a "little yappy dog" and seems a little "girly".

Michelle Obama then interrupted, "We're girls, we have a house full of girls!"

Her hubby, however, wanted "a big, rambunctious dog".

Barack will be sworn in on January 20.
